Bible Reading:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

In Genesis 5:24, Enoch walked with God in the same way that God expects you to walk in constant fellowship with Him. God wants you to escape the corruption in the world by ordering your life in line with His word. What is this corruption? It is famine, lack, sickness, etc.

It is an aberration that believers suffer the same things as the rest of the world. Abraham escaped the corruption of the world at the age of seventy-five. Nature told him that his end had come, but he dared to believe the word of God that all was not over with him. When you read the Bible, you will discover that when Sarah died, Abraham married another woman called Keturah, and they had many children after one hundred years. Abraham escaped the corruption of the world that had been brought about through mortality by obeying God. Abraham dared to call himself a father of nations at the age of seventy-five. When God tells you to come up higher that means He doesn’t want you to suffer what others are suffering. Abraham knew how to obey God and how to listen to him without question. That is the attitude you must adopt if you shall be lifted up today above the mundane things in life.

Isaac wanted to run to Egypt when there was famine in the land, but God told him not to go, to stay in the land of famine. Isaac remembered how his father had gone to Egypt when there was famine, so he wanted to do the same thing, but God stopped him. The result was Isaac’s reaping of a hundredfold in the land.

Beloved, the events of our days are meant to showcase us. Every challenge that comes before a child of God is intended by God to reveal His glory in the individual’s life. Follow God and you will see His hand at work in your life.
