Having established our righteousness, it is time to come into His presence boldly. I like the way the Message translation puts it: “So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help” (Hebrews 4:16, MSG). Many times we come with the religious garb of a sinner, only saved by grace and refusing to accept what the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus has provided for us, but the Message translation literally commands you to “take the mercy” and “accept the help.” Child of God, you cannot help yourself. You cannot reinvent the wheel. You cannot do more than what Jesus has done. So simply take the help.
Maybe you need to realise that it is actually pride that is keeping you from accepting what Jesus has done for you. Any attempt at paying the price again is a display of pride, which God hates. Think of it, can you make a better payment than the one Jesus paid on your behalf? Jesus died once and His blood is still speaking mercy and grace today. Don’t come before God carrying the guilt of sin; Jesus made the payment in full.
When the Bible encourages us to come in boldly, it is because God knows that the human thing to do is to come cringing and frightened, which the devil likes. The devil enjoys when you feel like a second-class citizen in the presence of God. But beloved, all that Jesus did, He did just for you, so square up your shoulders, lift your head, and march into the presence of your Father with the knowledge that you cannot be denied.
This is your Year of all Sufficiency but you can only enjoy it when you walk in with full assurance of who you are and what you have in Christ. Beloved, come into His presence with boldness. You cannot be denied.
