Today, the media is full of negative news, but as you already know faith and fear cometh by hearing. The difference lies in what you are hearing. If you only listen to the world reports, then fear builds up in you. All you think about is failure: you think about getting terminated from your high-paying job, the termination of a contract that you just won, or your business falling apart until you ultimately end up in bankruptcy. And if you continue with this line of thought, very soon such things will manifest. That is why I have come to remind you of this principle and to encourage you to use it correctly. Don’t think yourself into debt, failure, and bankruptcy. Don’t give the devil a foothold over your life through your thoughts, because the devil will not stop with just a foothold. He will graduate to having a stronghold if you don’t stop him.
The power of our thoughts should not be underestimated. In 2 Kings 5, we read the story of Naaman, who on the suggestion of a maid went to Israel. And when the Prophet said to him, “Go and dip seven times and you will be healed”, what immediately came upon him were thoughts that almost denied him of his miracle. The moment he was told to go to Israel in order to be healed, he began to think about how everything should happen. He built a plan in his mind and when the instructions given to him did not fall in line with his thoughts, he turned to go another way. But thank God for His good servants, who spoke to Naaman and convinced him to obey.
Do not let the news around you mould your mind set. Just because everything else is failing does not mean that your finances must fail. The God who said that in a time of famine you shall laugh has a unique way of reaching out to you. You may not have seen things done in a new way before, but God can start with you. He has not run out of ideas. I declare to you today, as the servant of God, that the Lord shall arise for you and His glory shall be seen upon you. Gentiles will come to your light, and kings will come to the brightness of your rising in Jesus’ name. You shall not be denied.
